Four Courts Hostel – Trekker’s Hostel Highlights

EntranceRight in the middle between Temple Bar and the Guinness Factory, on the banks of the River Liffy, Four Courts is in a prime spot. A little bit of a trek from the train station but worth it all the same. The staff and management are exceptionally friendly and while it might not look amazing from the outside, the vibe inside is pretty close to awesome. Fantastic Celtic wall art, from the Book of Kells, adorn the walls of this old convent building and there is plenty of space to chill and socialize.

With 230 beds, it is a good spot for groups and school groups, but unlike most hostels that offer this service the backpacker vibe is still there. The numerous common areas, including pool tables, TV room and quiet room make socializing a breeze. As with most hostels in Ireland and especially in Dublin, there is a free continental breakfast every morning. However, on the downside, there is a charge for internet and Wi-Fi, the management is hoping to change this but is unsure when.

All in all a very favorable thumbs up, pity about the internet, but as soon as that changes and the outside area is fixed up for smokers and BBQs, this is and will be a great place to stay.
