Avalon House – Trekker’s Hostel Highlights

Located across the way from the church containing the St. Valentine Shrine and about a 10 minute walk from Temple Bar, Avalon House, though not in the heart of the action, is a good stop. There are two pool and ping pong tables, movie nights and bingo nights. For those of you who believe you have talent, there is an Open Mic night where you earn a free night for 2 hours of entertainment.

One of the unique things about this Ireland hostel is how it used the space created by the high ceilings. In most of their rooms there is a loft up a spiral staircase, essentially created 2 rooms in one, a much better solution compared to making bunks 3 or 4 high. There are around 300 beds so more than enough to space to get lost in. With the larger dorms this is a great hostel for groups.

In addition to a free continental breakfast, there is also free internet and Wi-Fi, an active fireplace in winter and laundry facilities.
