Okay, so I know that Halloween is over. I know that, in this country, there is no Thanksgiving holiday to cushion one against the inevitable . . . but I was still a little taken aback when I walked into the local shopping centre and saw . . .

. . . yes folks, look carefully now, that is SuperSanta hanging from the ceiling of our local shopping centre . . . complete with gold cape and an “X” on his chest.

I’m assuming Marvel comics haven’t introduced a new seasonal superhero for the yuletide to join Xavier’s bunch of mutants. I’m also pretty sure loaded weapons are not allowed in my local shopping centre, so I don’t think it’s a target. That must be . . . oh, for feck’s sake . . .

Is it just me who finds the whole “ekks-miss” thing annoying?

I suppose I should be grateful that Ireland waits longer than the states – hey, it’s mid-November. I recall seeing Christmas stock hitting the shelves back in San Francisco at the end of summer.
