Another fortnight come and gone and I found myself in Brideswell ordering Guinness at the counter of O’Connell’s Pub. Shifting anxiously in the air around my head were the sounds of uilleann pipes, guitars, flute and a bouzouki fidgeting themselves into musical readiness.

Sean’s Saturday Session

So I popped down to Sean’s Bar Saturday evening to catch the weekly session. The crowd of onlookers and musicians was enormous this week and the tunes included a number of a capella sing-alongs in addition to some modern pieces and then, of course, some excellent trad.
