Here are some Ireland items in the news lately:

• The Ronnie Wood saga continues… After running off to his house in Ireland with a twenty-year-old Russian waitress, Wood has checked himself into rehab. That’ll make his seventh stint in rehab, by the way. Oh, and the waitress says she’s going to stand by her man - not surprisingly, Wood’s wife doesn’t seem to feel the same way.
• The governments of Ireland and Britain have both suggested re-instituting formal border checks between the two nations for the first time since 1925.
• An EU court has said that spouses of EU citizens living in Ireland can’t be deported from the country.
