La barra mas vieja en todo el mundo

mexicans singing in sean's bar, athloneThe Easter Sunday session in Sean’s Bar was a lively one all right. We had a number of visitors in the place, but the most far-flung had to be the two gentlemen on the left there.

Hailing from Mexico City, it took only a little persuading to get the two lads to give us a Mexican song. I had to stifle myself from laughing with glee when the lads, who had started their cancion de Mexico bravely a capella, were joined slowly and then with more vigor by the flutes, fiddles, bouzoukis and whatnot from the Irish players in the trad circle.

Listen to that mp3 there, I’d say you’ve never heard the like. Fair play to ‘em! Viva Mexico!

I am the Mexican (on the right) who was singing on easter sunday in Sean’s Pub. In was an unexpected and unforgetable experience.
