Brideswell Session
Last night the joyful noise in Brideswell stirred itself to life again.
There’s nothing quite like being cushioned deep in the midland countryside in a cosy Irish pub, listening to some well-played traditional music.
Magical corners of the world such as this are few and far between and good traditional sessions in Ireland are growing harder to find. Here in Brideswell every two weeks the world outside grows hushed and the voice of one’s worries grows quiet. A strain of an older, gentler way of life emanates from this music.
The players in Brideswell are not paid to play, they come every fortnight to share what they love the most: a few tunes. Here is a piece featuring Irish flute and bouzouki.
