The Ronnie Wood saga continues… After running off to his house in Ireland with a twenty-year-old Russian waitress, Wood has checked himself into rehab. That’ll make his seventh stint in rehab, by the way. Oh, and the waitress says she’s going to stand by her man - not surprisingly, Wood’s wife doesn’t seem to feel the same way.

Ireland is working on producing biofuels from seaweed.

Irish Voters Reject Lisbon Treaty, Threaten EU Future
Irish voters have, as expected, voted down the so-called “Lisbon Treaty,” which would have made several significant changes to the way the European Union is governed. Ireland was the only country in the EU to leave the decision of whether to accept the Lisbon Treaty to the voters, and Ireland’s prime minister says there won’t be a second referendum to try to change the result. “The people have just spoken,” he said. “My focus is on respecting the decision they have made. I suppose no one should be surprised at the antics of rock stars anymore, but it appears that Ronnie Wood of the Rolling Stones (who is, by the way, 61) has run off to Ireland with an 18-year-old Russian cocktail waitress. Perhaps my favorite headline comes from The Independent, which says “Even by Ronnie Wood’s standards, this is one hell of a bender.” Wood’s wife initially said the waitress was making the whole thing up, but now appears to be leaving the guitarist over the affair.
