The TriAthlone triathalon

Just look at that. Those are the triathletes this afternoon beginning the first leg of the triAthlone triathalon, swimming against the current up the river Shannon. After that they bike, run and then feel really good about what they’ve done I guess.

Crazy athletic types.

In any case, you won’t catch me doing that - no sir! The streets of Athlone are all blocked off and there are little DJ booths around with music playing. Loads of folks are lining the bridge and the river banks to watch the festivities and I’d say local pubs are making a killing. That and a lot of people are having a great day out. Right on, right on.

In any case, the rain has stayed mostly away. The weather this year has certainly been MUCH better than last. We even got a bit of sunshine. So here’s hoping that the rain stays away for the gig tonight in the castle!
