Reindeer in Jerusalem?

Irish nativity scene with reindeerI couldn’t help but post this one - I was walking past a local nativity scene and saw, among the camels and kings three stuffed (and mechanized, I might add) reindeer.

Is it just me, or is this a bit odd?

Oh yeah, here in Ireland the holy family manger scene is referred to as “the nativity.” It is also, seemingly, a tradition to throw coins into the nativity scene as if it were a wishing well. Note the two buckets placed there on either side of the central reindeer specifically for that purpose.
