I had mentioned that this June is less than the tourist might expect in the way of sunshine and summer weather, but this Sunday when the skies opened up and a veritable monsoon poured forth onto the earth I really began to wonder about global climate change.
Back in April while wearing shorts, sandals, sunglasses and a nice sheen of weather-induced sweat on the banks of the Shannon River I ruminated upon this very thing, but this Sunday a woman here in Ballykeeran had to climb out of her car and stand on the roof to wait for rescue as waters flooded into her vehicle.
In JUNE, people.
I ask you - is this normal weather?
