Big-ass Irish storm

munchkin and the rainYep. Big winds. Hail. I was almost blown straight off the bike yesterday. Someone rang RTE and claimed it was snowing heavily in Dublin.

The storm is supposed to get worse tonight, but at the moment there seems to be lull . . . at least here in the midlands. I was pleased to see that, as today’s weather struck up a chord thrumming past the iron uprights, that work on the beheamoth was slowed and the crane was unusable in the high winds.

Four people have died in Britain, a cargo ship sunk at sea and sailors around the place are distressed in general. Winds are gusting up to 80mph and flights have been canceled all over the place.

For her part, the munchkin tried to lick the raindrops off the glass . . . from the wrong side.
